Invisible Scar 1: Like the migrant' bodies, landscapes bear the memory, sometimes almost invisible, of painful events that occurred there. In the 20th century, the beautiful forest of the Ardennes, which extends on both sides of the border between France and Belgium, was the scene of two wars and many bodies were buried there. These traces are suggested here by collages of perforated colored papers.
Invisible Scar 2: On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the city of New Orleans, located on the Mississippi River near its delta. Poorly built or too old, floodwalls and dikes collapsed catastrophically. Many residents could not be evacuated, so nearly 1500 people died in the flood, trapped in private houses or in public buildings such as hospitals and prison. Bodies were seen floating on the water. They are evoked here by discreet collages of perforated paper.
