Les Absents (The Missing), 1999.
Painted plaster, hooks, wire, approx. 30 cm (12 in) high each plaster piece. Set of plaster pieces that are cast, scratched and painted, and suspended with hooks and wire from the ceiling.
Les Absents (The Missings) is an allegory on the weight of absence. As a counterpoint, the shadows on the walls bring the feeling of a slight movement, like the whirling of a very slow carousel.
