The title is borrowed from the French philosopher Vladimir Jankelevitch's book Je-ne-sais-quoi (I-Do-Not-Know-What) that explore notions of instant and decision, and of “what is just happening” or “about to happen”. As the petals are suspended 6 cm (2 in) from the wall, the shadow accentuates the impression that they are just about to fall or to move imperceptibly.
