Long voyage, triptych, 2018.
Watercolour, pencil, felt pen and printed paper on Canson paper 200 g/m², 20 × 84 cm (7.88 × 33.1 in) each.
This triptych is inspired by an old military map representing a landscape in perspective, strategic points and a kilometer ruler. Here, the strategic points of the military map are replaced by words that summarize each important moments in the course of a journey, which may have been undertaken by a migrant or a soldier, confronted with danger, precariousness and uncertainty. The numbers at the bottom of the drawing refer to the incredible distances covered.
