I-Do-Not-Know-What 2

I-Do-Not-Know-What 2 — 2011.

Gauze, paper pulp, pigments.

Installation, solo exhibition Sur le fil,
Keitelman Gallery, Brussels, 2012.

Installation, exhibition In Bloom,
Islip Art Museum, East Islip, NY, 2011.

Private collection, Portugal.

The title is borrowed from the French philosopher Vladimir Jankelevitch's book Je-ne-sais-quoi (I-Do-Not-Know-What) that explore notions of instant and decision, and of “what is just happening” or “about to happen”. As the petals are suspended 6 cm (2 in) from the wall, the shadow accentuates the impression that they are just about to fall or to move imperceptibly.
