Almost-Nothing

Almost-Nothing — 2008.

Gauze.

Installation facing I-Do-Not-Know-What,
exhibition Bruxelles, Territoire de Convergences,
Musée d'Ixelles, Brussels, 2008-2009.

The title is borrowed from the French philosopher Vladimir Jankelevitch's book Presque-rien (Almost-Nothing) that explore notions of instant and decision, and of “what is just happening” or “about to happen”. As the petals are suspended 6 cm (2 in) from the wall, the shadow accentuates the impression that they are just about to fall or to move imperceptibly.
